Mymy

http://mymy.cafes-city.com/

(This is supposably their new webweb-sitesite, but take it with a few grains of paradise, as it is not fully functionating right now.)

Placeplace: Mymy

Locationlocation: 15001500 CaliforniaCalifornia StreetStreet (on the corner of LarkinLarkin StreetStreet)

Hourshours: open at 8:00am8:00am dailydaily;
phonicular contact: (415) 800-7466

Mealmeal: Florentine Breakfast Sando ~ spinach tomato scramble, frisée[1], choice of meat (pork sausage patty/bacon ~ where they were nice enough to substitute either of these dead, decaying porcine products with dead, decaying sliced avocado for me, Patty), white Cheddar, aioli, brioche bun, served w/ crispy Yukon gold potatoes; a glassa orange juice with the meal; and, afters, a cuppa (pour-over drip style) Contraband Coffee Ethiopia Kochere[2] Washed Heirloom

https://mkt.com/store/contrabandcoffee/

(Even ol' Noel Yang knows that it is better to burn-out than it is to rust... hey-hey!)

Since my last visit to Mymy (see last 'blog-entry from SundaySunday, AugustAugust 21st21st, 20162016), I think they have excised the "CoffeeCoffee ShopShop" portion of their name and are just going by the abbreviated "Mymy" nownow.

"Hey, Brian, how come is it that you always seem to be eatin' at this place on Sunday mornings?" Well, if'n you ever tried parking in this busy area of Nob Hill on a Saturday morning, you would not be asking me such d*rn st*pid questions.

(Bigbig Mistakemistake) like an idiot, I opted to sit outside in their sidewalk café area at one of the tables along Larkin Street; it was probably 55-60° tops (my bet is that ol' Mister Sun probably was too ashamed to show his face in that neighborhood until at least after Noon). I was sitting out there solo for about twenty minutes until another idiot (with no jacket on and short sleeves even) and his 18-month-old (or two-year old) son sat at another one of these (let's face it) d*mn chilly tables.

Even after having eaten at Mymy several times already, there are still some other good ideas for me yet to try:

Lemon Souffle Pancake ~ souffle pancake gently folded in egg whites, seasonal fruit;

Banana Souffle Pancake ~ souffle pancake gently folded in egg whites, vanilla curd, candied walnut, grilled banana (one or other of these interesting-sounding versions of pancakes will definitely need to be checked out; I just had a sweet breakfast yesterday morning or I probably woulda gone with this one today);

Parma Flavor Benedict ~ prosciutto (No grazie!), fresh Mozzarella, tomato, basil, grilled asparagus, chive Hollandaise, Grana Padano, served w/ crispy Yukon gold potatoes;

British's[ sic, eye kidd ewe knot ] Good Morning ~ two eggs any style, mushroom, tomato, baked beans, blood pudding sausage (and do not let that "pudding" moniker fool you any; this is one vile, vile meatetarian product that even not many of those kinda people will eat), w/ toast;

or

Mambo Italiano Tartine ~ scramble w/ fresh Mozzarella, Kalamata olive, tomato, sun dried tomato, sausage, mushroom, aioli, toasted miche[3], spicy tomato sauce, served w/ crispy Yukon gold potatoes (I am not sure if this dish could be made vegetarian-friendly or not, though).

Trust me, Signore Ronaldo McDonaldo, this was definitely not your boring ol' Uovo McFocaccina that you might find in double-golden arches restaurants all over Firenze. I liked this a lot; stuff like this is why this place is very Breakfastary Starting Rotation-worthy if ever the need be. However, the only thing I probably might have done differently if I were ever to make this Sando-thing on my own (Yeah, right! Of course, I would first need to buy some eggs, brioche buns, spinach, tomatoes, and frisée... I do normally have some version of Cheddar in my refrigerator, at least) would be to add some thick slices of sweet/spicy red onion (which I would also need to purchase) in it, too. Caveat (be you an emptor or not): after two messy bites/attempts at eating this Sando-thing, it proved to be a bit too unwieldy and I gave up trying to eat it as a hand-held unit; so I just ate it posh "British's"-style with my knife and fork.

Once again, I really enjoyed their version of good crispy homefries. I figure that these are deep fried first and then probably baked off to remove any excess grease, because they were not greasy in any way, but were still very crispy-crunchy.

Mymy offers both Tabasco® Brand Hot Sauce
(Original Red Sauce) and Cholula® Hot Sauce (Original) for use as condimentary supplements. I simply used some (well, a lot) of my own Hot Licks®
Serrano Hot Sauce (Thanks, Brian!) on the potatoes (and, finally, I have used the last dregs in that bottle! ~ and because of which, I may have done a little over-kill... whatever ~ now I only have twenty-nine bottles of hot sauces left in my refrigerator) and some Golden Pagoda Jalapeno Hot Sauce (Thanks, Mom!) on/in the Sando-thing. I also used several grinds outta my grains of paradise-grinder on both the potatoes and the Sando-thing.

(not really such a) Strange Coffee Interlude

As has been my tradition when eating at Mymy the past few visits, I will stop off (beforehand or afterhand) at Contraband Coffee (which is just around the corner on Larkin Street and two doors down, anyway) for a mighty fine cuppa. Today they were offering two different Ethiopian Coffees as pour-over drip style. I had not had either one before, so I went with the Kochere. It was another very good Ethiopian output, I was happy to see.

Sears Fine Food

http://www.searsfinefood.com/

Place: Sears Fine Food ~ Celebrating 80 Years

Location:  439 Powell Street (between Post and Sutter Streets, just a half-block up from Union Square)

Hours: open daily at 6:30am

Meal: Crisp Pecan[1] Waffle; a side of hash brown potatoes; and a glassa grapefruit juice (which was served with a plastic straw... Ha!)

I headed back once again to Sears Fine Food (see last 'blog-entry from Monday, March 13th, 2017) for breakfast this morning. I like that they open up very early every day for a downtown tourista location. This morning I sat at the diner counter which is near the front and to the left just as you enter. I was not even aware previously that it was there. The restaurant was basically empty when I had arrived around 7:00am, so I could have sat just about anywhere, anyway.

I liked that this waffle had lotsa pecans in it. Otherwise, it was just your basic Belgian waffle. However, with the butter plus maple syrup plus some fresh-squeezed orange juice (meaning I freshly squeezed it from the slice of orange garnish off my plate) plus the pecans, this all made for a very nice flavour combination.

I also always like a place that offers two types of breakfastary potatoes; they also have home fried potatoes.

I think for condimentary supplementation Sears Fine Food only has Tabasco® Brand Hot Sauce
(Original Red Sauce). I just used some of my own H*ll's Kitchen® Chipotle Chocolate Hot Sauce
(Thanks, Mom!) along with several grinds from my grains of paradise-grinder on the potatoes.

(This information is borrowed [stolen... potato ~ tomato] directly from the friendly folks at WikipediA. What can I say? I was lazy today.)

The pecan (Carya illinoinensis) is a species of hickory native to Mexico and the Southern United States.

"Pecan" is from an Algonquian word variously referring to pecans, walnuts, and hickory nuts, or more broadly to any nut requiring a stone to crack.

(Once again, the saying "As 'merican as Apple Pie." really oughta shoulda read: "As 'merican as Pecan [or Pumpkin] Pie.", as apples are an Old World fruit and both pecans and pumpkins are New World food items.)

lokma

https://www.lokmasf.com/

Place: lokma

Location:  1801 Clement Street
(on the corner of 19th Avenue)

Hours: open Tuesday - Sunday at 9:00am for "Brunch"

Meal: (as a brunchified appetizer) Warm Mediterranean Olives; (for my mainer) Menemen ~ Turkish egg scramble, tomatoes, sweet peppers, Feta[1] cheese, fresh fruit & warm pita; to drink with the meal a demi-cuppa Turkish Coffee; and, beforehand, I stopped at home once again for another truly amazing cuppa Lavender Latte

http://home-cafe.cafes-city.com/

(I have no idea whether Amanda Bergman[2] likes either Menemen or Turkish Coffee, but the last time that I ate at lokma, I posted a few songs by her ex-husband, the Tallest Man on Earth, so I figured it was her turn now.)

Trying to keep it as local as possible on this very fog-infested weekend, I simply went back to lokma (see initial 'blog-entry from Sunday, June 10th, 2018). This restaurant is only three blocks away from where I had breakfast yesterday morning.

They now have some sidewalk seating. There are five small, round tables for two ~ three along the Clement Street sidewalk side and two along the 19th Avenue sidewalk side. However, it was wayyyy too chilly and foggy for this idiot to even think about sitting out there this morning. The only idiots braving the fog and cold were a couple with their pupster, so they did not really have much choice.

lokma does not really offer a whole lotta stuff on their "Brunch" menu (be you a stupid vegetarian or one of them kinda people that partakes in eating the dead, decaying flesh of various animals), but there are still a few other ideas that are worth a look-see:

(a starter/appetizer) Bal & Kaymak ~ honey, clotted cream, & house made (well, restaurant-made) pita;

Breakfast Porridge ~ coconut milk, bulgur, granola, almonds (this sounds interesting enough, but if I were to order it, I am sure I would have to supplement it with some of their house potatoes);

Greek(Nasıl?) Yogurt Pancakes ~ seasonal fruit, honey, blueberry compote, almonds (again, I would probably have a side of house potatoes with this one, too);

or maybe

Presidio Salad ~ mixed greens, chickpeas, tomatoes, olives, walnuts, Feta & red wine vinaigrette (I would probably have them lay... well, place... a poached or over-medium egg on top to make it a bit more breakfastarily sound).

(Now, I coulda really used some of these authentic Kalamata olives in yesterday's omelette.)

It musta been a Feta kinda weekend for me (I always say: "Mo' Feta, mo' betta!", anyway.) This version of Menemen was not quite as soupy/stewy as a few of the other versions that I have had in the past and it did not include any onions in it (or none that I could discern). I suppose, like tiramisù and chilaquiles, the recipe can vary from family-to-family or restaurant-to-restaurant. I really liked all of the julienned light-green peppers in it; they were not spicy in any way, just adding lots of flavour.

I have no idea what lokma might have had to offer in the way of condimentary supplements. I did not bother to ask, nor really need any. I did once again use several grinds from my grains of paradise-grinder all over the main dish (and even some on the grapes ~ for which, I hope I do not incur the wrath of any of you purists [or Klingons] out there).

(not really such a) Strange Coffee Interlude

As I had done the previous time that I had visited
lokma (because they do not open until 9:00am and I had time to kill), I stopped by home for another cuppa one of their specials. I reverted back to one of their stranger concoctions (and one of my recent local favourites, anyway). What can I say? Lavender Latte
really seems to work for me. There are still several other completely-ridiculous-sounding Lattes on their menu that I need yet to try: Sea-Salted Caramel Latte; Chocolate Mint Latte; Hazelnut Latte; Holy Cow ~ a condensed milk Latte; Birthday Cake Latte ~ a rainbow vanilla Latte; and even London Fog ~ Earl Grey Latte with vanilla (where I bet this would also be great with some of the lavender syrup in it).

Yeah, I know what you are thinking, "Hey, Brian, if'n you already done had you a Coffee afore breakfast, why come you ordered a Turkish Coffee with the meal?" Well, I will give you a two-part answer there: 1) When in Istanbul, do as the Istanbulans do; 2) You can never have enough Coffee in the day; 3) (okay, so it was a three-part answer) It was only a demitasse-worth, anyway; and 4) (okay, that makes it a four-part answer... in harmony... with feeling) Mind yer own bees-wax, d*mmit!

Even with the Latte beforehand, this was still a lot less caffeine than I had yesterday morning. However, during the past two days, my Coffee-intake was probably the equivalent of two normal weekends worth.

Glen Bacon Scale Rating:
Lavender Latte ~ 7.4;
Menemen ~ 6.7

1. Stupid, useless cunning linguist/pseudo-sociological pointer of the day:

The work "Feta"/"Φέτα" is the Greek word for "slice" (as in "gimme a thick 'slice' of that good ol' Feta cheese on toppa my χωριάτικη σαλάτα"). I just think it is strange that this Turkish restaurant is using this specific type of cheese. More than likely it is easier to procure imported Greek Feta than the similar Turkish cheese beyaz peynir (literally meaning "white cheese" ~ which you can consider as "stupid, useless cunning linguist/pseudo-sociological pointer of the day - part b"). Normally, Turks would not admit to anything of Greek heritage.

(By the way, I just want to point out yet once again that I absolutely love that there is a web-site called Cheese.com.)

I know that there are also several food-words of Turkish/Arabic origin that are used in everyday Greek (although Greeks are just as vice-the-versa to admit it, too); ferexample: dolma/ντολμάδες; baklava/μπακλαβά, cacik/τζατζίκι, et cetera/και τα λοιπά.

Royal Ground Coffee

Breakfast on Geary (redux),
Part XXIII-B

(and also Richmond [District] Coffeehouses
~ Chapter Six-B)

(It looks like they do not have an official-type web-site no more. Maybe this was the trade-off to pay for all the new renovations.)

Place: Royal Ground Coffee

Location: 5301 Geary Boulevard (on the corner of 17th Avenue); phonicular contact: (415) 751-5282

Hours: open at 6:30am daily (however, I do not think that the kitchen is open for breakfast until about 7:00am)

Meal: Greek Omelette ~ Feta cheese, red onions, tomatoes, cucumber (yes, cucumbers inside an omelette!), bell pepper, olive, served with choice of fresh hash brown or country potatoes (they did not specify if the πατάτες country of origin was Ελλάδα, though), choice of toast: white, wheat, rye, sourdough, multigrain, or English muffin; and to drink a 16 oz glass tumbler-type-thing of a Coffee drink they called a Keith Richards ~ a Latte drink made with four (4!!!!) shots of Espresso

(Ol' Keif did not really get too many lead-singing opportunities, but these two are pretty decent... even if he had to share the singing-duties with some guy named Sir Michael Philip Jagger on both songs.)

After having lunch at Royal Ground Coffee (see previous 'blog-entry from Sunday, August 30th, 2015) a few weeks back, I noticed that along with their brand-spankin'-new (How come people never reference "unregistered-S&M-old" stuff?) renovations, they now are offering many actual breakfastary dishes (before it was just your standard toasted bagels and microwaved scrambled eggs items). Ever on the look-out for good, local (and, in this case, right down the street from my apartment ~ about fifteen-and-a-half blocks or so) breakfast options, I made sure to plan on getting back there to try out the new fare.

After a several months-long closure, they have reopened (just recently ~ in July sometime?) with a new look (and apparently a full working kitchen now, too) which included all new décor and furniture.  Sadly, gone are all the cool old comfy-chairs and couches that used to be there.

Here is just a short list of some of the other new items that even stupid vegetarians might possibly order:

Cheese Omelette ~ choice of cheese: 'merican, Swiss, Cheddar, Jack, Pepper Jack, Provolone;

Vegetarian Omelette ~ spinach, mushroom, tomatoes, Provolone cheese, topped w/ avocado, pico del[ sic ] gallo, & sour cream;

Hash-Over ~ hash brown topped w/chili (which I probably would have to hash-under), two eggs any style, Cheddar cheese, jalapeño, pico del[ sic, again ] gallo, sour cream, & scallion;

six different Eggs Benedict dishes, of which only the Egg[ sic ] Florentine would be a viable vegetarian-friendly choice, though;

and

several different versions of Pancakes, Waffles, & French Toast.

This ain't your dad's stinkin' St*rbucks menu!

This turned out to be a very good αυθεντική χωριάτικη ομελέτα (which is not just for those peasant-types any longer). The only thing missing here was a cold glassa Ρετσίνα and some wayward neighborhood γάτες. Interestingly, all of the vegetables inside the omelette were raw/un-sautéed (for which I was warned when ordering); this was fine by me, anyway. It had a decent amount of Feta in it, and in largish chunks ~ not just those skimpy-*ssed sprinkles ~ I might add (well, they did add, but I repeated it here). The tomatoes were cherry/grape tomato halves. Now, who would ever think to put cucumbers (raw or sautéed) in an omelette? This actually worked very nicely, too. My only minor complaint (καταγγελιάκι;) would be that the black olives in it were just the standard canned type; this would have been much better made with real Kalamata olives in it, of course.

I always love a joint that offers two different breakfastary potato variants. I went with the country potatoes option and was not disappointed. This was a HUGE pile o' potatoes, made with lots of green bell peppers and white onions throughout.

For condimentary supplementation, Royal Ground Coffee only had Crystal® Louisiana's Pure Hot Sauce. I used some of my own Hot Licks® Serrano Hot Sauce (Thanks, Brian! Will this d*mn bottle never be empty?!) on the potatoes and a little Dragon's Lair Extra Hot Cayenne & Habanero Hot Sauce (Thanks, Mom!) on top of the omelette. I also went with several grinds from my grains of paradise-grinder all over everything (well, not on top of my Coffee... but the thought did cross my mind).

The Coffee-Latte thing was pretty good. I ended up dumping the slice of orange-garnish that was on my plate into it about half-way through drinking it. (Would that make it a Keith Borgia?!) With four (4!!!!) shots of Espresso in it, this is like the equivalent of three to four cuppas all at once. I may not sleep again until Monday night now. (I do know that I have been racing like a p*ss-horse all afternoon long.)

Glen Bacon Scale Rating:
Greek Omelette ~ 6.9 (whereas, if this had been made with real Kalamata olives, I would probably have rated it 7.1 at least);
Captain Jack Sparrow's Dad Latte ~ 6.74

Jo Ann's Cafe & Pantry

A(nother) breakfastary mini-roadtrip:
South San Francisco, CA

(Sunday, August 12th, 2018)

(No official-type web-site or nuthin'.)

Place: Jo Ann's Cafe & Pantry

Location: 1131 El Camino Real, South San Francisco, CA; phonicular contact: (650) 872-2810

Hours: open Monday-Friday at 7:30am; Saturday & Sunday at 8:00am

Meal: (me) Orange Bread French Toast ~ 3 slices of our (well, their) housemade (well, Cafe & Pantry-made) bread, dipped in our (again, their) delicious (they are correct there) orange batter, topped with butter and sliced oranges, & served with real maple syrup, and (because that was not quite enough carbohydrates for me for the morning) a side of home fries; (Joe) Cheddar, Bacon, & Green Onions Omelette ~ 3 eggs cooked in butter, home fries and toast (Joe smartly went with a fresh-baked cinnamon muffin; even I can make toast at home); (Karen) the Original ~ 2 eggs scrambled with spinach, green onions, mushrooms, spices, and your choice of meat (Karen chose chorizo), served with home fries & your choice of toast, muffin, bagel, tortillas, or scone (Karen chose [very wisely, I might add] an orange-cranberry scone);
and to drink: (me) a large glassa orange juice, (Joe) a cuppa (and a few refillas) whatever the house Coffee was, (Karen) just a glassa water

Some old friends (meaning I have known them for a verrrry long time, but both Joe and Karen are kinda old, too) were in town for the weekend and staying at a motel in San Bruno, so I figured hitting Jo Ann's Cafe & Pantry again for breakfast (see last 'blog-entry from Monday, March 13th, 2017) was the smart thing to do (it was less than a mile just up the road ~ in this case, El Camino Real ~ from where they were staying, anyway).

I tried my d*rnedest to talk Joe and/or Karen into ordering something off of the Weekend Specials menu-insert. If I had not already pre-planned on getting what I had ordered, I might have easily deigned to order the Banana Buttermilk Pancakes. I mean, banana-filled pancakes topped with blueberries (an actual botanical berry, of course), strawberries (not so actual botanical berry), bananas (which botanically are a berry all on their ownsome, too), and berry butter? What is not to like there? Plus, that berry butter sounds like something that I will need to try on a future visit.

I just have one word to describe this meal:
Verrrry tasty!

Now while this dish may not have been "My Favourite New French Toast Dish of 2018 Not Named Pain Perdu at Baker Street Bistro" (that honour will probably be going to GriddleGriddle FreshFresh [see 'blog-entry from Saturday, June 9th, 2018]), this one is definitely Honourable Mention-worthy. The only thing that might have made this ever betterer would have been if they made their own cinnamon-orange-infused maple syrup to pour all over the top (or had given me some of that berry butter to use with this).

For condimentary supplementation, Jo Ann's Cafe & Pantry offers the Standard (in this case, South) San Francisco Triumvirate of Hot Sauces: Tabasco® Brand Pepper Sauce (Original Red Sauce), Tapatío® Salsa Picante Hot Sauce, and Cholula® Hot Sauce Original. I simply went with some of my own Chelsea Fire Wicked. Hot. Sauce.® on the potatoes, as did Joe.

(another not so) Strange Coffee Interlude

After breakfast, Joe and Karen had the great idea to head over to the "sunny" coast of Pacifica to kill the time until they had to head to the airport back to Denver. While we were walking around the Rockaway Beach area, both Joe and I (at this point, I am thinking that Karen might secretly be Mormon) got 12 oz cuppas Kona Coffee at Pacific Java Cafe.[1] This was a fairly light roast Coffee, but it was pretty good all the same. They do offer a few other different roasts/blends from which to choose. However, I am not sure which brand of Coffee they serve. (I did not see anything listed on any of their signage and I did not really bother to ask.)

Breakfast at Tiffany's

"Lunches?! We don' need no stinkin' lunches!"

https://www.breakfastattiffanyssf.com/

(And, no, I did not have breakfast upstairs at
Dr. Liberman Family Dentistry this morning... they can never quite seem to get their poached eggs
al dente enough for me.)

Place: Breakfast at Tiffany's[1]

Location: 2499 San Bruno Avenue
(at Thornton Avenue)

Hours: open Monday - Friday at 7:00am;
Saturday and Sunday at 8:00am

Meal: San Bruno Florentine (Benedict) ~ 3 poached eggs, sourdough English muffins, sautéed spinach and mushrooms, sausage patties (nixed these, of course), Hollandaise, and Jack, and served with Tiff's Original Hash or rabbit-food mix (you can guess which of the two sides I went with); and to drink with the meal, a glassa freshly-squeezed (as in just "freshly-squeezed" for every glassa) orange juice; and, aforehand, a cuppa drip-style Coffee at four barrel - Columbia (but I did not get which specific blend/roast ~ it was probably either El Tablón or Lucas Melo)

https://www.fourbarrelcoffee.com/

(I have no idea if either Sir Mick or Commoner Keif like Eggs Benedict or jazzed-up hashbrowns, but
Exile on Main St. is not only my favourite the Rolling Stones[2] album, it is easily in my Top Three All-Time Favourite Albums [Rock-and/or-Roll or not] of All-Time.)

It is always such a looong drive over to
Breakfast at Tiffany's (see last 'blog-entry from Sunday, June 26th, 2016), so I was very happy to see that all of their cooks showed up on time for work this morning. (Because, unlike yesterday morning, I really had no back-up plan options in mind. This place is completely on the other side of town and I really do not know that many nearby places, otherwise. It would even be Breakfastary Starting Rotation-worthy if it were not so far across town.)

(There were a few of these interesting [which I am calling] cracked eggshell hanging lamps in the restaurant.)

There are still a few other item-ideas that I need to check out one of these days (whenever I am feeling up for another cross-town road-trip):

French Toast Special ~ crustless French toast (3), w eggs any style, breakfast links (2), country sausage patty (they do not reference from which country Ms. Patricia might have emigrated), or bacon strips (2), apple cinnamon (where I would most probably also supplement this with a side of Tiffany's Original Hash Browns upgraded to Stella(!));

or

San Bruno Ave Omelette ~ spinach, mushrooms, Jack, served with Tiff's Original Hash or rabbit-food mix, toast or English muffin (so, basically this is the omeletized version of what I had this morning).

Additionally, on their blackboard specials they had #23 Benedict Trio ~ Corned Beef, Loco Moco, Fried Chicken served with Hash (which I could not order, but sounded decent for those of you that do partake of the dead, decaying flesh of bovines and poultry).

Three (3) poached eggs! I really was not expecting that and must have missed it when I was perusing the menu. (I wonder who got my other half-English muffin this morning.) Needless to say (but I am needlessly saying it here, anyway), it was a whole lotta food for me. Who needs lunch, anyway? This was made with lots of fresh sautéed spinach and sliced button (or crimini) mushrooms (so, this would not be for the fungi-faint of heart).

Of course, I had my Tiffany's Original Hash Browns upgraded to Stella(!) ~ with green chile, tomatoes, Cheddar and Jack, sour cream (and, not listed, these also come with a small ramekin of salsa), which is truly the only way to go (and, for which, this is one of the reasons I do like "to go" back there) if you ask me (and even if you don't ask me).

Breakfast at Tiffany's offers the Standard San Francisco Triumvirate of Hot Sauces as condimentary supplements: Tabasco® Brand Pepper Sauce (Original Red Sauce), Tapatío® Salsa Picante Hot Sauce, and Cholula® Hot Sauce Original. I simply used some more of my own Hot Links® Serrano Hot Sauce (Thanks, Brian! Hopefully, if I go heavily enough with it, there is just one more dosage left in that bottle now.) on top of two of the eggs and some more grinded-up grains of paradise all over everything.

(not so) Strange Coffee Interlude

Knowing from my last trip over there that four barrel had a really cool (and almost hidden) coffeeshop just one block away, I made sure to arrive in the neighborhood about a half-hour early to get me a very decent cuppa to enjoy pre-breakfast. They only have one drip-style Coffee available in the day and (sadly) no longer offer a choice of single-cuppa pour-overs (I was eyeing one of their Ethiopian blends/roasts ~ they offer two or three for sale in bags). The cuppa that I did have was verrry good all the same (or even if it was few the different).

So, if you are ever exiled on San Bruno Avenue, just make sure you stop by Breakfast at Tiffany's for a great breakfast and four barrel for a very good cuppa!

Glen Bacon Scale Rating:
San Bruno Florentine ~ 6.5;
Tiffany's Original Hash Browns upgraded to Stella(!) ~ 7.2;
