"That'll be four cuppas on Mr. XV!" (It's okay, Karl, Mr. XV always wore silicon-coated long johns.) or Yet still another "Pay-it-forward (... or bugger-off!) Weekend"
http://www.honeyhoneycafeandcrepery.com/ Place: Honey Honey ~ Cafe & Crepery Location: 599 Post Street (on the corner of Taylor Street) Hours: open Monday - Sunday at 7:30am Meal: Mediterranean (Savory Crepe) ~ Cheddar, onion, tomato, Feta, artichoke, olives, avocado, served w/ salad, fruit, or potatoes; and, to drink for myself, a large glassa freshly-squeezed (right afore mine own two eyes with one of them crazy the Jetsonsorange-juicer/squeezer contraption things) orange juice
(I have no idea if Mikel Jollett, Steven Delopoulos, or even Mr. XV like[d] crêpes made with avocado, artichokes, and Feta or not [well, ol' Στέφανος probably knows of αυθεντική ελληνική Φέτα]; I just like both of these songs[1] and felt they were deserved today.) To start off this year's Pay-it-forward (... or bugger-off!) Weekend on the right foot (or maybe that should be "... on the left foot", I was never very good at that marching-thing ~ which might explain why I was stuck way in the back of my Flight as a Road-Guard in Basic Training [at least, I did get to use my cool Lackland Laser daily]), I made sure to give the counter-lady person at Honey Honey ~ Cafe & Crepery (see last 'blog-entry from Saturday, May 19th, 2018) a coupla extra Abie Lincolns with which to pay for the next four standard cuppas for any customers that would be ordering after me and might want Coffee (as long as their names were not "Joseph Smith" or "Brigham Young", I suppose). This being only my fourth visit to this particular crêperie-type establishment, there are still several other good ideas on their menu for even stupid vegetarian (sorry, you Vegan-types are just gonna be outta luck ordering any kinda crêpes or omêlêttês): Eggplant (Savory Crepe) ~ Cheddar, tomato, garlic, fresh basil, sundried tomato, eggplant (this probably woulda been my order today if I had planned in advance); Suzette (Sweet Crepe) ~ orange zest, orange juice, sugar, and butter (which I would probably order with a side of their great homefries, too); Acapulco (Omelette) ~ Cheddar, salsa, avocado, sour cream, and black bean chili; Athens (Omelette) ~ Feta, spinach, and olives; or Cable Car (Omelette) ~ cream cheese, capers, red onion, smoked salmon (just without any of that dead, decaying piscine flesh, Mr. Rushdie).
Ooops! I had actually ordered this same crêpe on my initial visit to Honey Honey ~ Cafe & Crepery, I just forgot to check what I had already ordered before heading out the door. No biggie, it was still worth reordering, anyhow. I liked it again this morning. I just have three changes that I would make if I ever made crêpes myself (insert fat-chance, wildly laughing emoji here): 1) this really oughtta shoulda included authentic Kalamata olives, and not those sliced, tasteless, canned black olives; 2) I think that spinach in place of avocado mighta been a bit more Mediterraneany; and 3) there really was not much call 'round these parts for the Cheddar, Mr. Wensleydale; I bet Fontina or Provolone woulda made more sense geographically and tastily (just make sure not to use any cat-eating, excrementally runny Camembert, Ernie!). Of course, once again, I went with the side choice of homefried potatoes. These are truly some of the best homefries in town and worth a trip back over there all on their own recognizance. ("Salads?! We ain't got no salads! We don' need no salads! I don't have to show you any stinkin' rabbit-food!") For condimentary supplementation, Honey Honey ~ Cafe & Crepery has the Standard San Francisco Triumvirate of Hot Sauces: Tabasco®Brand Pepper Sauce (both Original Red Sauce and Green Jalapeño Sauce), Cholula®Hot SauceOriginal, and Tapatío®Salsa PicanteHot Sauce. I used some of my own Peaks of Otter PeppersCremation Drops Hot Sauce (Thanks, Greg & Cindy!) all over the potatoes (this one is only about as hot as your standard Lou'sianacayenne pepper sauce, so I used a fair to Midland-Odessa amount of it) and some Old St. AugustineDatil Pepper Sauce (Thanks, Cindy & Greg!) inside the crêpe (now this one is about as hot as any habanero hot sauce, so I went a bit more lightly with it, probably ten splashes/drops only). (another not so very) Strange Coffee Interlude Before even heading out into the mighty misty morn, I prepared myself a cuppa (via single pour-over funnel-thing) Cops & Doughnuts - Cops Coffee ~ Morning Shift (Medium Roast) (Thanks, Greg & Cindy [and possibly Amy, too]! [Please note, these felons are not related to the above hot sauce-gift-givers in any way.]). This is another Christmas gift that I am finally getting around to trying (in addition to already having three other opened bags of Coffee in my refrigerator, I still have another five 12oz to 16oz bags unopened in my freezer from Christmas and before). This is a very good, smooth, morning-style Coffee (but I am sure that I will enjoy it in the evenings as well). It is a very robust Coffee... even though it is made outta 100% Arabica beans. (hahaha... just a little Coffee-geek humor there.) https://copsdoughnuts.com/product/cops-coffee-12oz-bag-ground/ Additional, Pay-it-forward (... or bugger-off!) Interlude After breakfast and while on my way to the bus stop homeward, I saw a domicile-challenged guy out in front of the Walgreens on the corner of Geary and Taylor Streets. I had to stop in and top-off my Clipper® card anyway, so I figured I would give the guy a buck or two on my way out of the store. As luck would have it, I also had an extra umbrella that I had found on the bus earlier in the week (some people find money, I find umbrellas) in my backpack. It was not raining hardly enough for me to even bother breaking it out for use myself this morning, so I offered it to the guy when I walked outside. He was very grateful for the gift and told me his name was William. He also told me that someone had recently stolen an old umbrella that he had. I did also make sure to give William two Georgie Washingtons for later use. Not that I am expecting William to "pay-it-forward" with either his new (used/found) umbrella or cash to anyone else on the street, though. 1. Yeah, so, the second song may be one of them "Jesus"-y kinda songs. You gotta problem with that, take it up with Στέφανος and his boyos.
When life hands you lemons... get you some crêpes!
https://www.moz-cafe.com/ Place: Mo'z Café Location: 5 Masonic Avenue (on the corner of Geary Boulevard) Hours: open every day at 7:00am Meal: 5 Masonic Crepe ~ Mozzarella, Cheddar cheese, onion, tomato, mushroom, spinach, walnuts, cottage cheese, and Marinara sauce, served with mixed greens, fruit or house potatoes (I went with the only intelligent choice of house potatoes; yeah, right, I can throw some mixed greens or fruit on a stupid plate myd*mnself); and to drink a large (16oz or such) glassa Peach-Pear-Apricot smoothie, Mr. Kuiper
(Now, I may easily have used one or both of these songs before, but, so what? I really like birds of chicago.[1] As far as I know, there are no real EweToobular juxtaselections with either of these songs. Of course, it could quite possibly be that both Allison Russell and JT Nero are be big fans of Of-Mice-and-Men/lemonade crêpes.) My original plan this morning was to revisit Royal Ground Coffee ~ their location that is just down the road apiece from me on Geary Boulevard (see previous 'blog-entry from Sunday, August 30th, 2015) ~ as they had just recently re-opened after a long (six months or more) renovation/refurbishment. They now have an actual kitchen and offer several real breakfastary items on their new menu (they used to do just bagels and sandwiches and stuff). They open at 6:30am every day of the week and I figured I could get an extra early jump on the day. However... when I had arrived there a little after 7:00am, I was informed that the cook was not yet in for the morning and was running about ten-to-fifteen minutes late. No biggie, I would just mosey along Geary Boulevard for a bit and come back later for breakfast. Except... when I got back about twenty minutes later, the cook still had not shown up and I was then told that he would probably be another ten-to-fifeen minutes at latest. Okay, I needed to stop by the bank to get some money out, anyway. But... when I re-re-arrived back after another fifteen minutes, I was then informed they did not know when exactly the cook might show up that morning. It is all good. I will just try again another time (probably next weekend). Luckily I knew that I could always head back over to Mo'z Café (see last 'blog-entry from Saturday, February 24th, 2018) and order me some kinda George-and-Lenny-Special-Crêpe as a viable back-up plan. Besides, this restaurant is only straight down Geary Boulevard (about twenty-seven blocks) from Royal Ground Coffee. I was able to sit outside in the covered/semi-enclosed sidewalk patio area this morning. The Sun was out and a-shinin', but it was still a bit chilly. It really did not matter because I was protected from the wind with a vinyl window/wall-thing. There are still two more items that are specific to this location (that are not offered at their original 5th Street location) that I want to check out (so I really had no problem having to head "all the way over there" this morning, anyway): Amore Omelette~ avocado, black beanchili (it does not specify if this is vegetarian-friendly or not, but I would be sure to ask before ordering this one), salsa, Cheddar cheese, and sour cream; or Romano Omelette~ spinach, Greek olives, and Feta. (Hmmm?! "Romano"?! Sounds a lot more like "Atheno" to me, Ray.)
This was a very good Marinara sauce all over the top of the crêpe. (I spoke with Mo after breakfast and told him this would probably be even better with their extra tasty salsa ranchera on it.) I was a little wary of how the cottage cheese might taste/mix with the rest of the ingredients, but with all of the other good junk inside the crêpe, you could barely notice the blandocity of that cheese curd product. The really nice surprise was the walnuts in it; I had completely forgotten that they were one of the ingredients in it and I really liked the crunch and added flavour. And, as always, their homefries were very, very good (mixed greens or fruit... I fart in your general direction!). For condimentary supplementation, Mo'z Café had Tabasco®Brand Pepper Sauce (both Original Red Sauce and Green [Jalapeno] Pepper Sauce), and Tapatío®Salsa PicanteHot Sauce on all the tables. I finally got to use some of my brand new ChelseaFireWicked. Hot. Sauce.® (Thanks, Sha'!) on the homefries. I received this as a belated birthday gift from my sister (apparently she does not know the meaning of "No more d*mn hot sauces or d*mn baseball caps for a while, please!") when I was visiting Massachusetts last month. I had test-tasted it already and knew to go pretty light-handedly with it because it has both ghost chillies and habanero chillies as its heat source. Additionally, when I was touristing along Main Street Falmouth on Cape Cod last month, I found a small packet of whole grains of paradise in a spice and tea shop. As luck would have it, a few days later while waiting to get into Riverside Cafe for breakfast, there was a little curio/junk shop right next door and I found a refillable/portable pepper grinder (well, in my case, it is now a grains of paradise-grinder) in the shop for only $5.00 (the small packet of grains of paradise was more than that even). So, I very generously grinded-up some (meaning at least twenty twists of the grinder) all over both the crêpe and the potatoes. https://chelseafirehotsauce.com/ Glen Bacon Scale Rating: 5 Masonic Crepe ~ 6.6; ChelseaFireWicked. http://www.honeyhoneycafeandcrepery.com/ Place: Honey Honey ~ Cafe & Crepery Location: 599 Post Street (on the corner of Taylor Street) Hours: open Monday - Sunday at 7:30am Meal: Torino (Savory Crepe) ~ Feta cheese, fresh basil, tomato, mushroom, served w/salad (Ha!), fruit (Double-Ha!!), or potatoes (Which was my choice, of course!); and a large glassa fresh-squeezed (well, fresh-machined in one of those the Jetsons-juicer-things) orange juice
(There really is no EweToobular juxtaselection with this song and today's breakfast; I just like the song. And I do not really know how Bob Marley or Sheriff John Brown [or the Deputy, even] felt about either crêpes or Feta.) Wow. I am very surprised that it has been almost two years since my last visit to Honey Honey ~ Cafe & Crepery (see last 'blog-entry from Saturday, July 16th, 2016) as I know that I really liked both of the crêpes that I had there on my first two visits. Hopefully it will not take me another two years to get back to try some of their other great breakfastary ideas: (Savory Crepe) Eggplant ~ Cheddar, tomato, garlic, fresh basil, sundried tomato, eggplant (Eggplant, basil, and two types of tomatoes? Yeah, this is my kinda crêpe.); (Sweet Crepe) Suzette ~ orange zest, orange juice, sugar, and butter (which I would probably order with a side of their great homefries); (Omelette) Acapulco ~ Cheddar, salsa, avocado, sour cream, and black beanchili; (Omelette) Athens ~ Feta, spinach, and olives (this was going to be my back-up choice if I did not feel like crêpes this morning) or (Omelette) Milano ~ Mozzarella, tomato, garlic, and fresh basil.
This was another winner of a crêpe and I liked it very much! However, my initial thought on tasting it was, "Man, that is some funny tasting spinach...", because I completely forgot what the ingredients inside it were. Who knew basil and Feta would be a great match? And, thankfully, this bad-boy was chock-fulla Feta. For condimentary supplementation, Honey Honey ~ Cafe & Crepery offers the Standard San Francisco Triumvirate of Hot Sauces: Tabasco®Brand Pepper Sauce (both Original Red Sauce and Green Jalapeño Sauce), Cholula®Hot SauceOriginal, and Tapatío®Salsa PicanteHot Sauce. And yet still once more again this morning I used some of my own Palo AltoFirefighters XXX Ghost Pepper Sauce (Thanks, Brian!) on the homefries. Finally, I think I am almost to the end of that bottle and probably have about just one dose left in it... finally. (Which will leave me with only 30 bottles [I kid you not] remaining in my refrigerator. Sheesh!) Glen Bacon Scale Rating: Torino ~ 6.7; "I Shot the Sheriff" ~ 7.2 ___________________
1. (not really a) Stupid, useless cunning linguist pointer of the day (unless you consider ye Olde English a ferren language... which it is to most of us, anyway): The word "sheriff" is a contraction of the term "shire reeve". The term, from ye Olde English "scīr-gerēfa", designated a royal official responsible for keeping the peace throughout a shire or county on behalf of the King. The term was preserved in England notwithstanding the Norman Conquest. From the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms, the term spread to several other regions, at an early point to Scotland, latterly to Ireland, and then to the United States. (The Arabic term "sharif" ["الشريف" (meaning "noble/honourable")], sometimes rendered "sherif", bears no historical or etymological connection... no matter how much you are rockin' the Casbah.)
https://masonicave.mozcafesanfrancisco.com/ Place: Mo'z café Location: 5 Masonic Avenue (on the corner of Geary Boulevard) Hours: open every day at 7:00am Meal: the Corner Crepe ~ Cheddar cheese, onions, tomato, Greek olives, roasted bell peppers, pesto, Feta, and pine nuts, with a choice of sides; and to drink a Peach-Pear-Apricot Smoothie
(If you did not know that Ellas Otha Bates was a big fan of Feta and crêpes, you don't know Diddley!) It was straight down Geary Boulevard (well, about forty-three blocks or so) to the corner of Masonic Avenue for a return visit to Mo'z café (see last 'blog-entry from Saturday, June 24th, 2017) for me this morning. I really like that there is a place close enough to my apartment (well, again, about forty-three blocks away) that serves very good crêpes. It was extremely cold this morning (by San Francisco standards, at least; probably just not as "wicked cold" as some people up in New England have had this Winter) when I started out for breakfast. It is not often that you see actual frost on cars in San Francisco. Because of this, I decided to wimp-out (wimp-it good!) and remain inside the café to eat and not sit outside in their large sidewalk café area; even though it is a covered area with windbreaker sides, it was still way too cold to do so. I spoke to the guy at the counter, who just happened to be named Mo (I do not think that he is any relation to the guy in the restaurant's name), about how this location offers some more/different crêpes than the original 5th Street shop. Mo told me that he is trying to standardize that original menu with more of these new items, too. Apparently the kitchen in this newer location is much better-equipped for more items. Just a few more of these location-specific items that I will need to get back to try one of these days: 5 Masonic ~ Mozzarella, Cheddar cheese, onion, tomato, mushroom, spinach, walnuts (really?!?? that sounds like a strange enough addition that I would definitely like to try this), cottage cheese (however, this is one ingredient which I would have to have omitted), and Marinara sauce; Amore Omelette ~ avocado, black bean chili (it does not specify if this is vegetarian-friendly or not, but I would have to ask before ordering this one), salsa, Cheddar cheese, and sour cream; or Romano Omelette ~ spinach, Greek olives, and Feta.
With all of the other good junk stuffed into this crêpe, I don't even remember tasting any pine nuts in it or not. H*ck, I don't think it really even needed any pesto in it either, and I love pesto. It really didn't matter as this included lots of Feta bits (and not any of them crummy crumblies, but actual good-sized 1/4" chunks). And the "Greek olives" in it were not just any ol' απλές ελληνικές ελιές, but (pitted) αυθεντικές ελιές Καλαμών! For sides (or four sides) they offer a choice of either homefries (house potatoes), hashbrowns, some kinda rabbit-food lettucey stuff, or some boring ol' fruity-cup. I went with the side choice of homefries ~ which was a very smart move because this was a huge pile o' extra crispy, crunchy potatoes, too. I really enjoyed the smoothie, too. It was made simply with fresh fruits and ice in a blender. I liked this specific combination of fruits in the smoothie. However, because it was already so cold this morning, I probably shoulda gotten a warm/hot drink instead. (I would say that I got a brain-freeze from drinking this too quickly, but anyone that knows me would know that really wouldn't take but a snowflake or two to do so.) Mo'z café offers Tabasco®Brand Pepper Sauce (both Original Red Sauce and Green Jalapeño Sauce) and Tapatío®Salsa PicanteHot Sauce for use as condimentary supplementation. I had brought a few of my own hot sauces and used some Old St. Augustine Snake Bite Datil Pepper Sauce (Thanks, Greg & Cindy!) ~ just six to seven dashes ~ on top of the crêpe and some H*ll's Kitchen®Chipotle Chocolate Hot Sauce (Thanks, Mom!) ~ this one I used a lot more liberally, about like a normal liberal (or conservative) person might use ketchup ~ all over the potatoes. Glen Bacon Scale Rating: the Corner Crepe ~ 6.9; Peach-Pear-Apricot Smoothie ~ 6.8
Because calling an End-of-Year list "Best of... " is rather subjunctive, for the past few years in a row (because "past few years not in a row" really doesn't make a lotta sense) I have gone with the more adverbial appellation[1] of "My Favourites... ". However, once more, I am keeping with the "Top Ten" format-idea, and the easiest way to rank these was just to go back through all my 'blog-entries from 2017 and see which ones had the highest Glen Bacon Scale Rating (and in the case of identical GBS ratings, I am simply listing them chronologistically[2]).
So, without further adieu... 1) It really should come as no surprise to anyone (well, anyone that has ever read my silly li'l 'blog-thing over the years) that le Pain Perdu extraordinaire at Baker Street Bistro (see 'blog-entries from Sunday, September 3rdet aussiSunday, January 8th) is topping my list again this year. (As great as this dish is, if you can imagine it, it was even greater when they used to make their own cinnamon-orange-infused maple syrup to pour over it. And if Lucky the Leprechaun and Vizzini ever had a child together[3], I am sure that child would state that this was: "Inconceivably Delicious!") 2) Seeing as it is not only one of "My Favourite" breakfastary dishes in San Francisco, but the Touchstone for all Eggs Benedict dishes for me, it also should be no surprise that the Zucchini Cakes at Dottie's True blue café (see blog-entries fromSaturday, February 25th, Sunday, June 11th, and Saturday, October 7th) comes in at the "Number 2" spot again this year.
3) The Puka French Toast at grindz (see 'blog-entry from Saturday, February 18th) was so tasty and interesting that it is also "My Favourite" (New) French Toast Dish of 2017 Not Named le Pain Perdu extraordinaire at Baker Street Bistro. I just can not believe that this was the first time that I had ever ordered it there.[4] 4) Take my word for it, Fannie, the Fried Green Tomato Benedict at Mission Beach Cafe (see 'blog-entry from Sunday, September 17th) is good enough for an entrée at the Whistle Stop Cafe. Plus, I am calling this "My Favourite" New Eggs Benedict Dish of 2017 Not Named Zucchini Cakes atDottie's True blue café. 5) Spicy Kale Skillet at Eats (see 'blog entry from Sunday, January 15th). They mistakenly have this dish labeled as "Spicy Tomato Skillet" on their menu, but I always have to correct it in my 'blog-thing. What do owners of their own restaurants know, anyway?! 6) Kugelhopf (think: French toast made from slices of a German/Austrian/Alsatian-style Bundt brioche bread/cake) at Mama♥s on Washington Square (see 'blog-entry from Sunday, April 2nd). Any other year, this may have taken the honours as "My Favourite" (New) French Toast Dish of 2017 Not Named le Pain Perdu extraordinaire at Baker Street Bistro, if not for #3 above. 7) I am very happy to note that an entry from Cafe GoLo ~ Boutique Cafe made the list this again year, as this may be the last time it does so (see special In Memoriam Interlude below): GoLoRanchero (see 'blog-entry from Saturday, January 21st). 8) The Vegetarian Scramble at Surisan (see 'blog-entry from Sunday, March 19th) was so good (even if they always seem to misppel "Brussel[ sic ] sprouts") and a great surprise along Fisherman's Wharf that I am also naming the restaurant as "My Favourite" New Find of 2017 (plus, it is hands-down the best breakfast ["Brunch", whatever] place on Fisherman's Wharf today). 9a) Œufs Baker Street Bistro at... well... Baker Street Bistro (see 'blog-entry from Saturday, May 6th). Once again, I must state that even if they didn't have the Best French Toast in town, this Frenchified twist on Œufs Benoît would be worth going back again and again and again all on its ownsome. 9b) Polenta w/ Mixed "Veggies" (uggh!) & 2 Poached Eggs at LaLe (see 'blog-entry from Sunday, September 10th). This was not 'zackly a take on Uova Benedette, but it was served with a Hollandaise sauce over the poached eggs. And due to the tastitude of the entire dish, they can be forgiven for the use of the "Veggies" (uggh!) moniker. 9c) Brussel[ sic ] Florentine Benny at Blackwood ~ American Thai Fusion (see 'blog-entry from Sunday, October 22nd). It is all about the deep-fried Brussels (or "Brussel[ sic ]") sprouts, Jean-Claude! (Okay, so maybe once again this list "goes to Eleven", Nigel.)[5] 2017 Specific Categories (& Honourable Mentions kinda stuff) "My Favourite" Spot for Tea... and Cats & Kittens ~ KitTea Cat Cafe (see 'blog-entry from Sunday, October 1st)! Oh, and they also have some good stuff to eat there, too. GBS Rating: 8.45 "My Favourite" New Local Coffee Roasters-place ~ Andytown Coffee Roasters (see initial 'blog-entry from Saturday, September 30th). I have tried a few different Coffee blends/drinks there now already. Their Ethiopia Natural Banko Fuafuate was a great discovery and has to be one of the best Coffees that I have had in a long time. It is easily in the Top Ten All-Time for me, and possibly in my Top Three evah. This is "the Nicole Kidman of Coffees" ("the Marilyn Monroe of Coffees" remains Jamaica Blue Mountain, of course). GBS Rating: Ethiopia Natural Banko Fuafuate ~ 8.3(-ish); Special Release: Columbia "Woot-Woot!" ~ 8.0; Wind & Sea ~ 7.3; Snowy Plover ~ 7.0 (Yeah, big surprise here) "My Favourite" Bready/Toasty Side ~ (World) Famous Cliff House Popovers(!) at the Bistro Restaurant at Cliff House (this is an exact duplicate of 2016's, 2015's, and 2014's choices; as long as they keep making 'em, I will keep eating 'em; see most recent last 'blog-entry from Sunday, September 24th). GBS Rating: 8.2 "My Favourite" New Pastry Find ~ Cardamom Brioche/Bombolone-thing at Jane the Bakery (see 'blog-entry from Saturday, February 25th) ~ Can you say cardamom-custard? Well, even if you can not, just eat the d*mn thing and shut up already! GBS Rating: 8.0 (Honourable Mention: Cardamom Spiced Coffee Cake at Marla Bakery [see 'blog-entry from Sunday, March 26th]. 1. Contrary to popular belief, "Appellation" does not refer to a town in Washington State nor that little stretch of hills from Georgia (y'all) to Maine (Ay-yah!). Plus, I kinda liked the alliterative sound of "adverbial appellation". 2. I always find it funny (in a "strange-haha" sorta way) that sometimes these completely madeuppery portmanteaus of mine are not only completely made-up by myself. Just Google"chronologistically" and you will see several other instances where other World Wild Web-users have also (foolishly) done so. 3. Hey! It could happen. Don't be so anti-LGBT*. *(Even though this is a food kinda 'blog-thing, "LGBT" there does not stand for a "Lettuce-Guacamole-Bacon-Tomato Sandwich". Besides, if'n I were ever to make that particular sandwich combination, it would be an "LGST" ~ "Lettuce-Guacamole-Seitan-Tomato" one [and, trust me, it would be without any of the "vile white goop" added, too].) 4. "Hey, Brian. I thought that you said that 'in the case of identical GBS ratings'... " First off, mind yer own soywax!!! (which is actually the correct Vegan anti-meddling saying) Secondly, in the case of a tie, all considerations go to Dottie's! (And if you still don't like that, fine! Consider the Zucchini Cakes rated at 7.61! I am just not gonna go back and edit all past 'blog-entries to reflect that now to please any of youse Nostral E. Parkers.) 5. Hmmm?! Looking back over this list, it seems like there was a preponderance of French toast (three times) and Eggs Benedict (five times) dishes included. 6. "But, Brian, if this meal is rated a Glen Bacon Scale of 7.4, why isn't it included in the 'Top Ten [Eleven]' list above?" a) Ooops! b) Besides, if I had included it in the list, that would have messed up the whole premedicated Spın̈al Tap -pish "Top Eleven". (So sue me.) 7. Ladies, whatever you do, do NOT ask for the "Brazilian Twist" when you are getting a bikini-wax. It would be very painful... but decidedly gluten-free.
